AirdriftSignals ("AirdriftSignals," "we," "us") is an online music magazine and community at airdriftsignals.com. It is operated by Stefan Walczak, doing business as Appy Solutions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, including comments, the Discussion Board, notifications, email updates and memberships, and how we use and protect it.
If you have questions, contact us at airdriftsignals@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
When you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional for reading. To comment or take part in the community, you sign in with your Google account. Google shares your name and email address with us. We do not receive your Google password. We use your email address as your account identifier and to confirm your sign-in with Google.
What you create or set on the site
- Your username, profile bio, username color, flair settings and other display preferences.
- Comments, replies, edits, GIFs you post, @mentions, reactions, votes, poll votes and polls you create.
- Direct messages you send through the site.
- Threads you follow, people you follow and your notification settings, including whether you want email notifications.
- Reports you submit about other content.
Activity information
- Whether you are currently online, so other members can see an "online now" indicator, and when you were last active.
- Typing indicators while you write a comment.
- Activity used for community features such as posting streaks, tenure badges and the leaderboard.
- The notifications you have read or dismissed, so they stay in sync across your devices.
Memberships and payments
Paid memberships are processed by Stripe. When you join, Stripe collects your payment details directly on its own secure checkout page. We never see or store your full card number. We receive and keep your email address, your Stripe customer ID, your membership plan and your subscription status (for example, active or canceled). We use these to give you the right flair and features.
Information stored on your device
The site saves some information in your browser's local storage, such as your sign-in state, cached comments and your display preferences. This makes pages load faster and keeps your settings in place. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. Doing so signs you out on that device.
2. How we use your information
- To run the comments, Discussion Board, profiles, polls, messaging and other community features.
- To show your username, flair, bio and posts to other visitors.
- To send you notifications on the site and, if you opt in, by email.
- To provide and manage paid memberships.
- To moderate the community: filtering spam, reviewing reports, and warning or banning accounts that break our Terms of Service.
- To keep the site secure and working properly, and to fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. What is public
Anything you post in comments or on the Discussion Board is public and can be seen by anyone who visits the site. So can your username, flair, badges, bio and profile card. Signed-in members can see the members list and who is online. Your email address is not shown publicly. Please don't post personal information you don't want others to see.
4. Email notifications
Email notifications are off until you choose to turn them on. If you opt in, we email you about activity that involves you, such as replies, mentions and reactions, plus occasional updates from the site owner. When there's a lot of activity, these may be bundled into a digest. Emails are sent from airdriftsignals@gmail.com. You can stop them at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email or the email setting in your profile.
5. Services we rely on
We share only the information each service needs to do its job:
- Google: Google Sign-In; Blogger, which hosts the site; and Google Apps Script, Google Sheets and Gmail, which store community data and send emails. Google's handling of data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. Blogger and Google may set their own cookies and collect standard technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, when you visit.
- Stripe: payment processing for memberships. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- KLIPY: GIF search. When you search for GIFs, your search terms and a random identifier for your browser are sent to KLIPY, and GIF images load from KLIPY's servers. Your name and email are not sent. See klipy.com for KLIPY's policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users, the public or the site.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your account information and posts for as long as the site is running or until you ask us to delete them. Deleted comments are removed from the site. If a deleted comment has replies, a "[Deleted]" placeholder may remain so the conversation still makes sense. Payment records are kept as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access or correction: you can view and edit much of your information, such as your bio and settings, from your profile. For anything else, email us.
- Deletion: you can delete your own comments. To delete your account and associated data, email airdriftsignals@gmail.com from the email address you sign in with.
- Emails: unsubscribe at any time, as described above.
- Memberships: manage or cancel your membership at any time from the Membership area of the site.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it. Email us to make a request. We will respond within the time the law requires.
8. Children
AirdriftSignals is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information:
- Sign-ins are verified with Google.
- Payment details are handled only by Stripe.
- Unsubscribe links are individually signed.
- Access to the site's data is limited to the site owner.
No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a secure Google account.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above. For significant changes, we'll also post a notice on the site.
